GARAPAN Elementary School was burglarized while an attempted break-in occurred at Dandan Middle School on Sunday evening, Variety learned.

No other details were available as of press time on Monday evening.

Over the weekend, 21 Hopwood Middle School temporary classrooms in Koblerville were burglarized, school principal Rizalina Liwag said.

Asked if the school’s security guard was asleep when the incident happened, Liwag said: “We have no confirmation about that.”

She added, “The owner of the security firm called and informed us that the school was burglarized.”

She said the burglar or burglars “messed up the classrooms and took small valuable items.”

The culprit/s slashed the tents to gain entry, she added.

The Department of Public Safety had not issued any statement about these incidents as of press time Monday evening, but police investigators were seen at Hopwood’s temporary campus in Koblerville on Saturday afternoon.

In the first week of February, Marianas High School was also burglarized.

A school official who declined to be identified said news reports about these break-ins may encourage more school burglaries.
