Manamko’ revive outdoor exercise program

OFFICE on Aging Director Walter Manglona said the manamko’ have revived their regular outdoor exercise program.

Soon, he said, they will also play softball, volleyball or basketball and participate in a gardening project.

“Moderate exercise is good for all of us,” Manglona said.

Saipan Senior Advisory Council president Gina Draper said about 20 congregants participate in the outdoor exercise program every Tuesday and Thursday.

“We also walk around and get some fresh air,” she said. “We have a good turnout.”

Virgie Mallari and Michael Tudela serve as their coaches, she added.

As for outdoor games, Draper said the manamko’ are encouraged to join a ballgame once a month.

She said it has been the goal of the council to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the manamko’.
