KAGMAN High School won a majority of the preliminary events in the 2020 PSS Interscholastic Outrigger Canoe Race on Saturday at Kilili Beach.

KHS topped the 500m girls in the first and second rounds with a time of 3:18.75 and 3:34.61 to earn 10 points. Saipan Southern High School was second with 6 points while Marianas High School earned 1 point.

In the girls 1000m race, SSHS won the first round, MHS was second while KHS was disqualified for knocking down a flag at a turning point.

In the second round of the girls 1000m race, MHS took 1st place coming in at 7:34.76. KHS was 2nd while SSHS ended in 3rd.

MHS was the overall winner in the girls 1000m race with 8 points followed by SSHS with 6 and KHS with 3.

In the boys division, KHS was dominant against MHS and SSHS, sweeping the 500m and 1000m in both rounds.

In the first round of the boys 1000m race, KHS finished first by coming in at 6:11.91 while SSHS clocked 6:13.00.

In the 2nd round of the boys 1000m race, KHS took off with an astonishing time of 6:39.92 to earn first place. SSHS came in second with a time of 6:49.22 while MHS was 3rd with a time of 7:01.37. KHS was the overall winner in the boys 1000m race with 10 points, followed by SSHS with 6 and MHS with 2.

In the boys 500m race, KHS blew past MHS and SSHS with a time of 2:59.12 in the first round and 2:56.57 in the second. KHS was the overall winner in the boys 500m race with 10 points followed by SSHS and MHS — the two ended in a tie with 4 points each.

In the mixed division, KHS swept both the 500m and 1000m races and garnered 10 points. MHS was 2nd with 6 points while SSHS was 3rd with 2 points.
