TWENTY-ONE of Hopwood Middle School’s temporary classrooms in Koblerville were damaged by a burglar or burglars over the weekend, school principal Rizalina Liwag said.

“It was reported to me early this [Saturday] morning when the security guard was patrolling and noticed the tents were slashed, so he called the police immediately,” Liwag added.

The culprits slashed the tents to gain entry. Variety was unable to determine what items or valuables were taken.

A Hopwood employee told Variety Saturday morning that their office was also ransacked and vandalized. The employee, who declined to be identified, did not want to provide additional information, saying that the police had already been alerted about the incident.

The Department of Public Safety had not issued a statement as of press time Sunday, but police investigators were seen at the school on Saturday afternoon.
