Friends of CW distribute 161 care packages

FRIENDS of CW organizer Irene Nepomuceno Holl said they distributed 160 care packages to furloughed guest workers on Saturday at the Garapan Round House.

It was the fourth distribution event of the group.

“It was very successful and the distribution was smooth,” Holl said, as she thanked all the other volunteers: Alma Basilgo, Ladyvir Canape, Guillermo Canape, Martha Badelles, Helen Pacurib, Marygrace Bautista, Wilfredo Escano, Danny Borlain, Ezeth Buenaventura. Mike Holl, and second lady Wella Palacios.

After the distribution on Saturday, Irene Nepomuceno Holl presented certificates of recognition to the volunteers and donors.

The certificates were signed by Mrs. Holl, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios.

Mrs. Holl at the same time thanked the donors: Victoria Scott of Hawaii, Alma Basilgo, Marissa Hardt, Nenita Ta, Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios and second lady Wella Palacios, Christine Kapileo, Budget Car Rental Micronesia, Rabby Syed of New York, Arceli Lizama, Bridge Capital LLC, Philippine Honorary Consul to the CNMI Eli Arago, Lion Atoy Banting, Mar Masilungan, Danny Borlain, Josephine Orcia, Shirley Reyes, Elsie Ringor, Elvie Lizardo, Emily Cabrera, Pebbles Basilgo, Valentino and Liza Cruz, Maricar Lustre, Anna Liza A. Guancia, JNL Corporation, Dr. Martin Rohringer, Brian Balboa, Gerald Aniciete, Jerica Ocaya Balboa, Mary Grace Bautista, Dr. Esther Khanajorn, Julie D. Cunanan, and Archie and Shiela of Hardt Eye Clinic.

Mrs. Holl said they also received donations from people who declined identification.

On Rota, she said the distribution of care packages to 200 individuals is tentatively scheduled this week.

The event will be held in collaboration with Karidat Social Services and the Rotary Club of Saipan.
