(Press Release) — The Elementary Mathcourt Statewide Level Competition was held online on May 9, 2020, conducted by www.mathleague.org

To qualify, students must have won at least in one event for the school year 2019-2020 or were chosen by mathleague.org because of their high scores in those events.

A total of 64  students from grades 4 to 6 participated in the online competition. The GMS Falcons who landed in the top 10 were:

Individual Round

John Edsel T. Hinolan, 4th place in 6th grade division

Paula Angela Bernardo, 6th place in 5th grade division

Nelisa Nicole Acaba, 7th place in 4th grade division

Team Round

John Edsel T. Hinolan, Ezra Alfred, Yel Khalil Ocampo, Louise Manansala placed 5th in the over-all team round and 4th in the 6th grade team round.

It was the first time that the students competed online because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers served as chaperones to make sure that the rules of mathleague.org were followed.

GMS thanks coaches Ms. Analiza Quiambao and Mr. Charly Zhang for training the students while conducting online class every weekday.

GMS likewise congratulates the students who participated in the online competition.

“To the parents, teachers, and coaches who supported and assisted in the event, your GMS family extends their deepest gratitude.”

GMS enrollment is ongoing. To register, call 235-2185.
