THIS year’s Christmas show of the manamko’ on Dec. 23 was very successful, Office on Aging Director Walter Manglona said on Friday.

I am very impressed with the manamko’ — they love performing for the people,” he added. “And we continue to encourage them to do great things.”

The show, which raised $100 for the manamko’, was held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the social hall of the Saipan Senior Citizens Center.

For the manamko’, it’s not just about money but the attendance of the people,” Manglona said.

Among the performers were Teddy Guiao who recited a poem; Ben Basa who sang “Blue Christmas” and “I Can’t Help Falling in Love”; and the Manamko’ Choir.

The band of Jess Pangelinan and Eden Liwag performed Christmas carols; Meryalen Conrad showed her “beatboxing” skills; and a Nativity skit featured the other senior citizens.

The other performances included the slide dance, the clap dance, the Manamko’ on the Move, birthday blindfold surprise, the bachelor’s dance, and the Christmas dance.

Manglona said he and the manamko’ are very grateful to the members of the community for their continued support.
