ON behalf of the Rotary Club of Saipan, its president, Marcia Ayuyu, expresses her appreciation to community members for their support.

“Christmas is a time to be thankful,” she added.

In this holiday season, she said the club would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all the individuals and businesses in the community for the support they have given to the club throughout the year to help make Rotary fundraising events a success.

“It amazes me how much work and commitment [are] put into organizing these events and the number of individuals that participate each year,” she added. “It also shows that it is the spirit of selfless giving and gratitude that drives us to do the things we do as a club and as one community as well.”

Ayuyu said the “teamwork, fellowship, and the results we see in our community and throughout our islands [are] worth every moment as a Rotarian.”

Club president-elect Sonya Dancoe, PE said every year they host the 5K McFun Run, the Disability Sports Fest, the dictionary distribution, the Thanksgiving lunch at the manamko’ center, Las Vegas Night, and other community projects.

“We look forward to another year of exciting events ahead,” she added. “Some of the projects done throughout the year were repairing bus stops throughout the island, providing disaster relief goods to families, installation of Drive Safely signs, repair and maintenance of the Kagman Family Park, the Peace Memorial, parks and playgrounds, and supporting student exchange programs.”

Dancoe said, “Each individual out there has a talent and skill that can truly make a difference in someone’s life, and together with the club they can make a bigger difference in the world.”

She said she is “truly proud to be part of this great organization and the work that continues to bring the community together in time of disaster, to connect with others around the world who share the same interests and motivation to serve others, and to be inspired to build goodwill throughout the world.”

The Rotary Club of Saipan, she added, “would like to wish everyone a very special holiday season filled with the magical treasures of Christmas, the warmth of home, the love of family, and the company of good friends.”
