National Weather Service: Developing circulation to pass vicinity of Marianas

HAGÅTÑA (Guam Homeland Security / Office of Civil Defense) — The National Weather Service Guam Weather Forecast Office on Monday issued a special weather statement for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. A developing circulation is now about 250 miles south-southwest of Guam moving northwest around 10 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms associated with the system are expected to affect the Marianas Monday and persist through Tuesday.

Breezy conditions and heavy showers are also expected Monday through Tuesday. Wind gusts to 30 mph are also possible in the heavier showers. Brief flooding in poor drainage areas is possible.

The community is advised to heed any advisories that come from the NWS in the coming days.
