Ma, Barman top 1k in 14th Meek & Mighty Swim

JUSTIN Ma and Sari Berman won their respective divisions in the 1k category of the 14th Meek & Mighty Swim on Saturday at the Kanoa Resort beach.

Justin Ma made his way around all four checkpoints with Sari Barman just behind him.

In the final leg of the race, Justin Ma kept treading the waters until he finally reached the shore and crossed the finish line, first overall with a time of 14:59.36. Sari Barman followed six seconds later in second place overall and first in the girls division with a time of 15:05.29.

Arman Rechucher made his way to second place in the boys division, coming in nearly a minute later with a time of 15:54.31 while Tristan Raho was third with a time of 15:59.64.

Nagisa Litulumar came in third overall but settled for second place in the girls division with 15:41.21 while Jessica Ma was third with a time of 15:54.07.

In the short category, the younger swimmers had a chance to experience a real race.

Kanoa Owens crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 01:10.31. Michael Rechucher was second, 1:22.43, while Tregan Wright was third, 1:23.00.

In the girls division it was Maria Guerrero who led the pack just a second behind Owens with a time of 1:11.17. Shana Barman took second place, clocking at 1:12.05 while Stella Choi crossed the finish line at 1:16.13.

Variety’s next edition will feature the 3k and 5k winners.
