BLUE Hauz notched its second straight win in the Masters Division of the United Filipino Organization and IT&E Basketball League after washing out PPG Paint, 99-76, on Saturday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

Blue Hauz’s players were simply unstoppable with Guiab putting up eight points in the opening quarter. But he was not the only player on the spotlight as the rest of his team-mates contributed as well. Peredo packed a punch with six points while Diaz and Buenabajo plunked four points each to give Blue Hauz control, 24-12.

PPG Paint tried to pick up the pace but could not gain a steady output due to Blue Hauz’s defense. PPG Paint’s Montoya extended the range with a three-pointer while Samson, Ebuen, Sanciangco, Elchico and Del Rio chipped in a bucket each. However, their combined production was not enough to cut down the deficit as Guiab and Peredo continued to deliver for a combined 19 points to maintain Blue Hauz’s comfortable distance.

Even with PPG Paint’s Ebuen starting to heat up with three consecutive triples in the third and fourth quarters, Blue Hauz continued to pull away. Kulala found his stroke late in the game, firing 14 points in the second half alongside Guiab and Diaz for a double-digit Blue Hauz victory, 99-76.

Saimar Pilots HRP 112, Saipan Vegas 87

HRP also joined the winner’s circle after trouncing Saipan Vegas.

In the first quarter, HRP’s Villarin took care of the inside game with six points while Santos shot the lights out with two baskets from beyond the arc to aid in their 23-19 spread. HRP’s Dayrit joined the onslaught with 10 points while Santos continued to fire from afar to extend the gap even further. Saipan Vegas’ Usi and Bisana tried to take matters into their own hands with the former scoring seven points and the latter with eight, but they failed to get the help needed from the rest of their teammates.

Saipan Vegas’ Moises and Park tried to lend a helping hand for the rest of the second half, but HRP’s firepower overwhelmed Saipan Vegas which lost 87-112.
