(Press Release) — With the success of the Latte Training Academy’s partnership with InteliSecure Inc., the local organization will be launching a new cohort of its CompTIA Information Technology Fundamentals  certification course in early August.

The Latte Training Academy Inc., a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization, has trained and successfully secured employment for participants who achieve the CompTIA certification.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome for this program,” said LTA president Juan-Carlos Benitez. “In the throes of the Covid-19 pandemic, our team was able to partner with InteliSecure Inc. to support the set-up and launch of its Security Operations Center or SOC in the CNMI. Not only is the timing unprecedented, but the impact that it has had for the students who went through training and achieved their CompTIA certification is significant. At a time when the CNMI is seeking to diversify its economy and companies are contracting due to Covid, InteliSecure is expanding and seeking full time employees to meet its global demand. Once students achieved the required certification, they are screened and referred to InteliSecure for employment opportunities within the SOC.”

The CNMI’s Security Operations Center, commonly referred to within the Cybersecurity industry as a SOC, launched in May 2020, employing residents who have completed the Latte Training Academy’s CompTIA program. While the organization has historically trained their students in the traditional classroom setting, their most recent cohort was the first to complete the course using a web-based platform.

“It was definitely an adjustment for the students and our team to instruct on-line,” said Herm Kintol, LTA’s information technology lead instructor.  “While were able to successfully complete the course, there were a lot of lessons learned which we will implement in the upcoming cohort. Many of the adjustments that will allow us to be successful in this next cohort are outlined during the registration process, which will begin on Thursday, August 6, 2020. We recognize that on-line learning is a new challenge for many people, so we want to ensure participants are aware of some of those challenges ahead of the course”

The organization will host its next cohort from Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a period of three weeks. The Latte Training Academy Inc. recognized that it may have missed individuals who signed up for courses prior to the Covid-19 restrictions and will prioritize contacting those individuals to assess their continued interest.
