HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A second man was charged in connection to raping a then-12-year-old girl in 2023.
On Sunday, Mannix Frank Songeni was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and complicity to commit first-degree criminal sexual conduct as first-degree felonies in the Superior Court of Guam.
Songeni’s charges stem from a complaint reported at a local middle school by a 13-year-old girl who said Songeni and Kason Andon sexually assaulted her, according to the magistrate’s complaint.
The girl told officers with the Guam Police Department that when she was about 12 years old, in February 2023, Andon allegedly pushed her up against a wall in a Barrigada apartment, which led the minor to hit her head and fall on the floor.
According to the complaint, Andon then allegedly picked her up by her legs, Songeni picked her up by her arms and they dragged her to a bed. Songeni subsequently locked the door and the pair pulled off the girl’s shorts.
The girl explained to police that Andon and Songeni raped her, the complaint stated.
Andon was charged Feb. 29. The teen identified Songeni through a photo lineup as the second suspect who sexually assaulted her.
According to the complaint, Songeni was arrested Saturday at about 7:28 a.m.
Songeni faces life in prison for the charges.
