(Press Release) — On March 6, 2020, Kate King Manglona, a nine-year-old at Isla Montessori, raised $443 to help Saipan Cares for Animals, a non-profit rescue clinic that provides low-cost veterinary services in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. She sold out all of her prints of her watercolor, a green sea turtle, entitled, “Frank.”

“Katie is unique as a young artist. She is extremely creative and her love of the islands and their creatures has motivated her to create her own painting in hopes of supporting so many animals through Saipan Cares for Animals,” said Victoria Sewell, her art teacher.
An additional $300 was donated by Marianas Creations, which also helped raise funds for Saipan Cares.
On March 8, 2020, Kate delivered the $773 to Saipan Care’s vice president, Yumiko Brundidge. “We are so grateful,” said Brundidge.
Kate, who will turn 10 this month, says helping animals get food and vet care is so rewarding. “Anyone can make a difference,” said Kate. “To everyone who bought a Frank print, thank you for making this world a better place.”
