(NMCADSV) — The Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence in collaboration with the CNMI Sexual Assault Response Team will be hosting a free two-part webinar called “Improving Services & Response: Supporting People with Disabilities who Experience Sexual Violence” on Tuesday, September 21 and Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 via Zoom.
Both parts of the webinar will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12 p.m., Chamorro Standard Time. The webinar training will be led by Leanne Mull, co-director of Blue Tower Solutions and chair of the Responding to Victims of Disabilities Committee, Illinois Family Violence Coordinating Council.
Mull will cover topics to help improve understanding of, and direct service responses to, victims and survivors with disabilities who experience sexual violence. Topics that will be covered include an overview on disabilities, understanding the prevalence of sexual violence, understanding barriers and attitudes, and providing information and tips on how to provide accommodations and communications for people with disabilities who have experienced sexual assault or violence.
