(Press Release) — This is to inform the general public that Karidat Social Services will be officially launching the CDBG Food Pantry Program made possible by the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development on June 1, 2021.
The total allocation awarded to Karidat is $405,268.50 — $327,514.80 for the project and no more than $77,753.70 for planning and administrative costs. The Food Pantry Program was made to prepare, prevent, and respond to the Coronavirus Pandemic and to supplement and expand ongoing efforts to procure food and infection control supplies in the CNMI.
The project will provide assistance to eligible families on a first come, first serve basis as a one-time only assistance for the duration of the project.
Applications can be picked up at the Karidat Social Services window Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or downloaded online at www.karidat.com
Completed applications can be submitted at the Karidat Social Services window or emailed to: email@example.com
Completed applications and certification forms will be reviewed, and “unmet need” will be determined by using the Official USDA Food Plans (Cost of food per family-Value of food assistance provided [if any] = UNMET NEED.)
Maximum assistance amounts up to $100 food and infection control supplies per person and up to $400 food and infection control supplies per family. Official USDA Food plan calculation is a requirement to determine eligible families.
Eligible families will be assigned a pick-up date of food/supplies. Families deemed ineligible for the assistance will be notified by Karidat.
