SAIPAN Mayor David M. Apatang commended Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, on the occasion of the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day on May 20, 2021, and handed its representatives a plaque of recognition.

The Falun Dafa representatives, for their part, expressed “heartfelt thanks” to the mayor and the people of the island.

“Your support of Falun Dafa demonstrates the recognition and support of island residents for universal values,” the Falun Dafa representatives said.

In China, they added, the ruling Communist Party “is still violating human rights and the freedom of belief every day. They have made up lies, slandered Falun Dafa, imprisoned and killed Falun Dafa practitioners, and are harvesting their live organs.”

In contrast, they said, “the Saipan people and mayor respect human rights, and demonstrate the power of courage and justice. Your actions are very precious so we sincerely thank you again!”

During a recognition ceremony at the mayor’s office, Weimin Li, the president of Falun Dafa Association on Saipan, presented copy of the book "Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China" to Mayor Apatang.

The American Independent Book Publishers Association announced recently that the book has won the Benjamin Franklin Award.

“For those concerned about the misuse of Chinese power around the world, this book is an essential source of information,” Falun Dafa stated. “It offers over 430 pages of the most exhaustive documentation of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, and should be in every library and parliamentary office.”

This month, the Falun Dafa on island held motorcades and roadside waving to celebrate the 22nd World Falun Dafa Day.
