ENOCH Liam and Ki Yong Kim claimed the Saipan Chamber Of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament Double Peoria title on Saturday at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, West Course.

Liam and Kim found their swing early in the game as they scored a birdie at hole #2 and managed to maintain a steady performance throughout the front nine.

Despite falling to one bogey at hole #4, they still managed to stay 2-below par with a gross score of 34 to stay ahead of the competition.

The back nine was not a problem for the duo as they slightly improved their strokes, this time with no bogeys recorded while sinking three birdies and even one eagle at hole #16 to end with a gross of 32. With a total gross score of 66 and sporting a handicap of -1.2, Liam and Kim took the number one spot with a net score of 67.2.

Juan Guerrero and Tony Benavente nearly snagged the title but fell short, and had to settle for second place

The duo had an impressive front nine output, scoring a gross of 33, but the back nine proved to be the tougher part of the course as they struggled with a gross of 37. With a gross total of 70, their handicap of 1.2 gave them a net score of 68.8.

In third place was the tandem of Joseph Muna and Freddy Salavaria. The pair scored a gross of 36 on the front nine and improved their odds on the back nine with a gross of 33 for a total score of 69. But with no handicap, Muna and Salavaria ended in third place.

As for the Closest to the Pin winners, they were Harry Nakamura at hole #3 — 28in;  Shine Tenorio,  hole #7 — 7.5ft; Joe Tudela, hole #13 — 8ft and 7in;  Peng Cheng Wu, hole #17 — 9.5in; and John Terlaje, hole #12 — 3ft and 5in.
