BRIDGE Capital LLC has repainted the baseball field facility on Capital Hill, Division of Parks and Recreation Director Mike Cruz said.
“This is through a private-public partnership without a cost from the government,” Cruz said on Friday. “Bridge Capital’s contribution is about $10,000 worth for labor, supplies, and materials, including the scraping,” he added.
“The repainting was done last week. I reached out to Bridge Capital because of the baseball facility’s paint condition. The repainting included the restroom, dugout, bleachers, press box, and pavilion,” Cruz said.
“Property manager Alex Palacios and I were discussing how we could upgrade the facility because a lot of community members utilize it daily. Bridge Capital was willing to give back to the community, and we at the Parks and Rec Division appreciate that. We cannot do this alone — we need to work with the private sector through a public-private partnership,” Cruz said.
He said Parks and Recreation will maintain the baseball facility while encouraging the community to help look after it and prevent vandalism.
