Peleliu routs One Vision, retains lead in Belau softball

Lead batter Leo Bobai and Darwin and Poland Masaharu each took a walk before Ogomoro’s momentum-starting homerun in the bottom of the first.

One Vision had earlier pulled away with eight runs before hitting an empty third inning. Tony Luzama scored the team’s only homerun at the top of the fourth.

Poland Masaharu hit a two-run single and posted Peleliu’s eighth run while Charly Kenty delivered a two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth.

One Vision’s dry fifth inning handed Peleliu an opening and allowed them to tie the score, 11-11 after Bernard Keleleman’s run-scoring single.

The loss downgraded One Vision to a 1-7 record.

Bobai bagged three runs and one RBI, Ogomoro earned two runs, a homerun, and five RBI, and Kenty scored one double and one triple with two RBI.

Jerome Reyes tallied One Vision’s final run in the top of the seventh. Peleliu struck out Ray Sablan to end the game.

Teams Red Man, Docomo Pacific, and Koror City Boys are all tied for second place with five wins and three loses apiece. Sufa and IT&E stand above One Vision at four wins and four losses. Team Toro has eight losses.

City Boys 8, IT&E 7

Meanwhile, the Koror City Boys toughed it out and cruised past IT&E, 8-7. Reno Celis was the game’s top hitter with two doubles and one single.

Celis handed the City boys three runs on his double in the first inning and delivered two RBI by the bottom of the sixth.

IT&E tied the game, 4-4 at the top of the third but fell one run behind after Robin’s run-scoring double.

Perry Besong scored the City Boys’ final run via single. Jeniy L. and John K. each posted two runs with two walks.

Docomo 11, Red Man 10

Bill Aguon and Jerry Ayuyu each struck homeruns to lift Docomo over Red Man, 11-10 in the first game.

Aguon hit the first homer and scored three RBI’s while Ayuyu followed in the third inning.

Red Man forced the game to a 10-10 deadlock in the seventh inning.

Pitcher Lawrence Fleming however, hit a triple and sprinted home to score Docomo’s winning run.

Team Red Man shot ahead on a 4-6 lead after Lefty Shiro’s homerun in the top of the second but came up empty in the third and sixth innings.

Ayuyu went 3-for-3 one one single, one double, and a homer.

Sufa 10, Toro 5

Despite Toro’s late-game surge, Sufa sealed Sunday’s second game on a six-run fourth inning and won, 10-5.

Sufa drew no runs until the bottom of the third and led, 9-0 by the bottom of the fourth.

Toro finally squeezed in a point after Ray Sakia’s two-run single in the sixth inning.

Jeff Cabrera’s sacrifice fly to left field ensured Sufa’s win. Ed Santos went 2-for-3 with two singles and two runs while Frank Babauta went 3-for-3 on two singles and one double with two runs.
