RICHARD McWilliams and Coby Santos were named the finals and regular season Most Valuable Players at the conclusion of the NMI Rollers Basketball Association Men's Tournament on Sunday at the Koblerville gym.
Richard McWilliams always made an impact when he was on the court, and this was especially true during the championship games against the Sixers.
In game 1 of the finale, The Game went head to head with the Sixers before gaining a safe distance in the second half.
McWilliams controlled the pace of each possession, contributing 16 points and five assists en route to The Games’s 88-85 triumph that forced a second game.
It was a tougher battle the second time around but McWilliams remained a prolific scorer, delivering 11 points and two assists as The Game led 43-42 by the end of the first half.
McWilliams continued to deliver in the second half, scoring 13 points as The Game edged the Sixers 81-80 to win the championship.
Sharing the spotlight with McWilliams is regular season MVP Coby Santos of the Ol’Aces who made his presence known throughout the tournament by averaging, per game, 21.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4.2 steals and 0.5 block.
Joining Santos in the Mythical Five are The Game's Jeff Sagum and Eric Joe, Blue Haus's Darwin Barbo, and the Sixers's Jack Aranda.
