(Press Release) — Is your new year’s resolution to finally write and publish that book you’ve been dreaming of?

Well, during an interactive three-hour workshop on Saturday, Jan 25 local author, Walt Goodridge, will share step-by-step instructions on how to successfully start your book project, overcome “writer’s block,” find the best and worst times to write, edit, layout and publish independently and even go from idea to sales in 24 hours or less! Walt recently turned down a publishing deal with a million-dollar UK publisher when that publisher referred to Walt’s works as “little flights of fancy.” He’ll share the full story behind that decision, plus the publication of his latest Saipan/Tinian/Rota tour app!

Walt is author of over two dozen books in a variety of genres. His books have been used as texts for university courses, as guides by other coaches, and his ideas have been quoted in books by “Guerrilla Marketing” guru Jay Conrad Levinson, music industry pioneer Chuck D, and other business authors worldwide. He’s been featured in Time Magazine, Billboard, Entrepreneur, The Wall St. Journal and other publications.

He has written several books about Saipan including Jamaican on Saipan, Chicken Feathers & Garlic Skin: Diary of a Chinese Garment Factory Girl on Saipan, Saipan Living, Doing Business on Saipan, Saipan Now: a photo adventure, There’s Something About Saipan, and From Bugle Boy to Battle Ship: a Battle of Saipan Veteran’s Memoir, and with local CHCC nurse Riza Ramos, he’s collaborated on The Boy Who Dreamed to Be With His Parents on Saipan, GermStopper Boy and Drinking Seawater (a Soudelor memoir).

This unique workshop will be held on Saturday Jan 25, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s Video Teleconference Room. Admission is $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. Twenty percent of admission proceeds will be donated directly to the library on the day of the event!

Seating is limited. To register, please visit the front desk of the library as soon as possible. For more information, and to see some photos and success stories from past workshops, visit www.saipanwriters.com
