O of Ohas!
As the new kid on the block, Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe is excited to roll out exciting beverages, pastries, and cakes for the tourists and locals who commute through Garapan.
On Friday, September 29, otherwise known as National Coffee Day, Ohas will have an exclusive ribbon cutting event to celebrate the establishment’s move to the island’s tourist center. The very next day, Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe will open to the public with a full drinks menu and extensive baked good offerings.

Amy Cho, Food and Beverage Director at Kensington Hotel Saipan, says that E-Land Group, who operates the new Garapan bakery and cafe, has taken their experience and feedback from local customers, creating the Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe menu.
“We will launch some specialty coffee menu items that Saipan people are sure to love,” Cho said, adding that she is excited because the coffee offerings are not common on Saipan.
She specifically highlights the Avocado Coffee drink as one item that took local favorites into consideration.
“I know that local people enjoy avocado shakes. So for this drink, we did a similar idea,” she mentions.
According to Henry Jung, Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe manager, the Avocado Coffee features avocado, condensed milk, fresh milk, sugar, and espresso.
Jung, who was translated for by Cho, adds on that they even have a blended Coconut Coffee drink, which features coconut milk, espresso, condensed milk, and sugar.
Some of the beverages Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe will serve on opening day, September 30.
Jung also highlights the Double Cube Latte, which features frozen coffee ice cubes floating in a latte. As the cubes sit in the beverage, the coffee flavor becomes stronger and stronger.
Cho is quick to mention that Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe uses Illy premium coffee beans in their beverages, and they’ve carefully crafted the proportions of ingredients in a way that ensures all their drinks are delicious. However, she and Jung are both extra excited about the Peanut Butter Coffee drink.
“As Kensington’s Food and Beverage Director, I know Saipan people’s favorite tastes,” Cho says. “They like things a little salty and a little sweet. With the Peanut Butter Coffee you can have the peanut aroma and the sweet and salty flavor.”
Jung says that for the Peanut Butter Coffee, they use a special cream, peanut butter, condensed milk, fresh milk, and espresso.
Cho invites the island to experience Ohas Boulangerie and Cafe for themselves, adding that aside from special coffee drinks, there are classic coffee beverages to order, teas, cakes, pastries and so much more.
In terms of their favorites, Jung sticks to his guns and says he’s a big fan of the Peanut Butter Coffee.
As for Cho, she keeps things simple.
“I like Americanos,” she says with a laugh.
