CCERA is still open

THE Commonwealth Covid-19 Emergency Rental Assistance or CCERA office remains open because it has received additional funding, Variety learned.

In February, its coordinator, Daniel Taitano, said the federally funded program was seeking additional funding amounting to $2.6 million.

He has yet to provide the exact amount that they have received, but he said the additional funding will extend rental assistance to those who are qualified and are already under the program.

As for the funds from last year, they had been “cleared” as of Jan. 26, benefiting 2,286 individuals.

Under the program, qualified individuals receive rental assistance for up to 12 months.

The CCERA program is offered to U.S. citizens, permanent U.S. residents or those with long-term CNMI resident status.

Any updates or further information about the program will be announced to the public as soon as possible through the media..

The Office of Grants Management & State Clearinghouse under the Office of the Governor is administering the program, which aims to reduce evictions and keep citizens in stable homes, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
