AS part of their community service, the Alpha Kappa Rho or AKRHO Humanitarian Council Saipan Chapter will provide free food and refreshments to community members who will participate in the annual trek to Mount Tapochao today, Good Friday, April 7, 2023.
“Our organization has been extremely blessed for the past year. We have many things to be thankful for: God’s continuous provision for our daily needs, the camaraderie and the good health that we have. This is also our way to support the devotees on Good Friday,” AKRHO Grand Skeptron and President Ricardo “Rick” Ansay told Variety in an interview.
AKRHO also provided free food and refreshments to the Good Friday devotees on Mount Tapochao last year when they served more than 500 cups of chicken and rice porridge.
This year, besides chicken and rice porridge, AKRHO will offer macaroni soup and boiled eggs.
“As an organization, we find this event fulfilling. It feels good to see the smiles of the devotees when we serve them food and water after their long hike,” AKRHO Vice Grand Skeptron and Vice President Alan Borito said.
He hopes that this year will be a good year for the devotees.
“Let us also be careful while hiking,” Borito said.
