What are we thankful for?

DCCA Division of Youth Services

The DCCA Division of Youth Services has been truly blessed to continue to work in partnership with numerous public and private entities on our continued mission in strengthening our CNMI families. We are forever grateful to our foster/kinship families, service providers, educators, partners, volunteers, donors and interns for joining our efforts as we continue providing the needed services to address the overall well-being of our children and families. To our DYS staff, we thank you for your tireless efforts and commitment as your continued work is truly monumental every step of the way. To all those that take on parenting roles, we send our utmost and sincere gratitude for all that you do!!

On behalf of our DCCA Division of Youth Services team, we wish you all a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!!

Karidat Social Services

ON May 5th, 2023, Karidat Social Services will be celebrating its 43rd Anniversary. Over the last forty-two years, Karidat has expanded its programs and services to meet the growing needs in our islands – whether that is establishing a battered women’s shelter, feeding the hungry through our food pantry and voucher program, or providing housing assistance to families who are unable to pay rent.

Karidat Executive Director Lauri Ogumoro, left, and other staff members join 2019 Miss Marianas Shannon Sasamoto in accepting her Thanksgiving food drive donations, in which Marianas Variety also helped promote, as part of its community service.

We are thankful for the overwhelming community support we have received so that we can continue with our mission of providing services and advocacy to those in need. Over the years, we have received in kind donations such as canned food and non-perishable goods, volunteer time, treasure and talents, and financial donations to help support our operations, and most especially unfunded client needs. We are also thankful for the dedicated staff who continue the mission of Karidat everyday.

If you want more information about Karidat and our programs you can visit our website https://www. karidat.com, our Facebook page, or by giving us a call at 670-234-6981.
