A legacy of providing contingencies, opportunities, options, and safety nets

(MV) — PACIFICA INSURANCE UNDERWRITERS, INC has experienced a natural progression in its storied 50-year history. Every struggle has shaped the company into a highly sought-after and respected industry player it is today.

“Successes and feats can be found in every chapter of our book, and I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to take the helm and succeed someone who has done an exceptional job growing and developing a company that continues to operate in a fragile island economy,” said President & CEO Shirley Ann T. Sablan in crediting her predecessor, Norman Tenorio.

She also paid tribute to the pioneers of the company. “Our company founders, board members, management, and staff both past and present, all deserve the credit of this 50-year milestone. Together with our business partners, community leaders, regulators, and industry stakeholders who all play a role in ensuring a vibrant and successful insurance industry deserve equal credit for our company’s success,”

Since 1973, PIUI has evolved with time. It acknowledges that doing business is no longer about strategic edge but a fundamental responsibility that has been proven effective and yielded the company lasting growth and success.

“Success is the ability to make it this far—a half-century of doing business in an industry that provides contingencies, opportunities, security options, and safety nets. In this business, we feel a sense of responsibility to help make the impossible possible,” President & CEO Sablan said.

As it continues to take on risks, PIUI is proud of its accomplishments: helping every customer realize their dreams— reflecting a careful balance of business strategy and embracing empowerment in customer satisfaction.

“We take on risks so that others can realize their dreams, acquire assets, open a business, access premium healthcare, among others. These are the notable feats of our company, to name a few. The business of insurance is the business of assurance, which is relative to all, and immeasurable in value,” President & CEO Sablan adds.
