Thou shall not steal

ONE of the Ten Commandments of God is “Thou Shall Not Steal.” We are continuously witnessing this Commandment violated.

Where did these individuals get their ideas to practice such a thing?  Are gangsters behind them to take stolen goods and sell them for their needs?  All you need to do is ask and we’ll be happy to share what we can.

Our farm is just above District One right after you pass the wetland area in As Lito.  From the first time that we started raising goats, we continuously experienced our goats to have been stolen.  It was worse back in March 2024.  Out of the 30 plus goats, half of them were stolen. To top it off, about 25 plus ducks were totally wiped out. The wild chickens were minimal as they were wild. They ran for their lives.  At the same timeframe, our brush-cutter, grass blower, and some of our valuable belongings in our home were all gone.  I cried and asked myself, what did we do wrong to deserve all these things taken away from us?

We also have a Bee Farm.  Last month for the third time, they vandalized the farm.  There were nine hives and six of them were destroyed down to the ground. The person that did this must have bee-protectives to prevent him/her from being stung by the bees.  The bees are very aggressive when there’s an intruder in their surrounding but this didn’t stop the person from vandalizing our Bee Farm.

The latest that happened at the farm in As Lito was that our gray trailer was stolen.  We bought it at Joeten Super Store.  It is my husband’s right hand in taking care of almost anything at the farm or around the house.

We reported all these incidents to DPS but to no avail. They might be overwhelmed with their responsibilities. So many thieves on such a small island. No wonder why it is called Islas de los Ladrones (Island of Thieves).

The police force and the community should try their very best to solve all these problems or do a systematic patrolling around the island.

Is our community safe with all the things that’s happening on our island?  We will experience more homeless and sickly people.  Every time I read the local newspaper, there are always challenges or fears that’s happening,

Let our faith shine in each one of us so that we will have a healthy community. Whoever you are, realize your mistake or wrongdoing because our God is a Merciful God and He will forgive our sins.

By working together, as a State and Church, we can resolve our challenges and fears.  I am pretty sure we will have a safe and healthy community.

Thank you for reading this letter. God Bless!
