Roland Tudela, 37, is escorted by a Corrections officer after a bail hearing on Thursday.

ROLAND Tudela has been arrested after allegedly following his ex-girlfriend and damaging her pickup truck.

Tudela, 37, was charged with stalking, tampering with a vehicle, and domestic violence.

He appeared in custody before Superior Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho for a bail hearing on Friday. He was represented by Assistant Public Defender Emily Thomsen, while Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds appeared for the government.

Judge Camacho set a $5,000 cash bail for Tudela’s release and remanded him to the custody of the Department of Corrections. The defendant was ordered to return to court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. and an arraignment on Oct. 27 at 9 a.m.

According to the complaint, Tudela’s ex-girlfriend called police on Sept. 19 after he allegedly slashed the four tires of her Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with a knife because she refused to take him to the store. Tudela had fled into the jungle before the police arrived, the victim said.

On Sept. 24, the victim again called for police assistance. She tol

d officers that while having lunch at Oleai Beach Bar with her sister and new boyfriend, Tudela arrived and began yelling at her.

She said Tudela then walked outside, approached her pickup truck, picked up a rock, and started damaging the vehicle while shouting profanity. The victim said she told him to stop.

Investigators observed that the front window of the pickup truck was “bashed in,” with a rock the size of a football beside it. Both front headlights were shattered, and the driver’s side view mirror was hanging, police said.
