(Department of Public Safety) — As of 8:30 Wednesday morning, law enforcement officers are still at the scene.
Since Tuesday night, negotiations have been ongoing. The suspect initially disconnected the phone line until he requested for food and a drink. Negotiations are ongoing by means of megaphone.
Beginning from 7:14 a.m., through 7:53 a.m., the suspect had fired two rounds a few times, totaling the six rounds heard in the area this morning.
Residents in the immediate area have been evacuated, and are asked to stay clear of the immediate area until police state that it is safe to return to the area.
DPS is asking parents to not release their children near or around the area of San Antonio.
DPS will release more information on the current situation once it becomes available.
