HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A 21-year-old female school aide was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old male student.
On Tuesday, Guam Police Department officers met with the parents of the 16-year-old after they discovered their son was in a relationship with Kianni Ibanez, a 21-year-old school aide at their son’s school.
According to the magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam, officers interviewed the boy, who explained that he met Ibanez in August 2023 because Ibanez was the school aide assigned to his area.
“The defendant and the victim started to communicate through WhatsApp and formed a relationship,” the complaint stated.
About a week after the boy turned 16, Ibanez and the minor allegedly made plans to meet up outside of school at around midnight on March 4 this year. Ibanez allegedly drove to the minor’s Dededo residence and parked across the street, and the minor sneaked out of his house and met with Ibanez.
“While in the defendant’s car, the defendant and the victim took off their clothes. The defendant then laid down the back seat and got on top of the victim. The defendant had sexual intercourse with the victim,” according to the complaint, which added the minor went back to his house at about 4:30 a.m. and got ready for school.
Then on Tuesday at about 4 a.m. the minor sneaked out of his residence again to meet Ibanez and have sexual intercourse in Ibanez’s car.
“WhatsApp messages between the defendant reveal that the defendant had agreed to drive over to the victim’s house that morning and the victim would sneak out of his house,” the complaint stated.
Messages between Ibanez the minor further revealed the 16-year-old boy was going to run away from home on April 2 and stay with Ibanez at her residence, which Ibanez allegedly agreed to.
Police interviewed Ibanez, who allegedly admitted to having sex with the teenager on the two occasions.
“The defendant admitted that she knew it was wrong to have sexual intercourse with the victim,” according to the complaint.
Ibanez was charged with electronic enticement of a child as a second-degree felony and two counts of second-degree custodial interference as a third-degree felony.
A Guam Police Department vehicle is seen on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Tumon.
