From cleaner to crew member

MYRNA Pagcu was a cleaner at McDonald’s 24 years ago.

“I scrubbed the floor and wiped the tables. I made sure everything was clean and not just for the customers but also for the staff,” she said.

Pagcu reported for work early and was never late or absent.

“I am dedicated to my job. I am always excited to go to work. I will only be absent if I am really sick,” she said.

Eventually, Pagcu was promoted to crew member.

“I treasure my new tasks, and I make sure that I am patient in everything and with everyone,” she said.

Whenever she encounters difficult customers, she said she always put on her best self.

“The customers are the reason why I have my job. I want to always treat them well,” she added

She said McDonald’s is a good place to work and grow one’s career.

“A McDonald’s, each individual is valued. They give us appropriate training to improve our skills. And our superiors motivate us to do more than what we are capable of doing,” Pagcu said.

Ultimately, she believes that success in one’s career depends on a person’s attitude.

“If we work hard, wherever field we are in, then we will succeed. If we put our 100% effort in what we do and not quit when we are having a hard time, then all our hard work will pay off,” she said.
