BEST Fast Food. Best Fries. Best Late Night Eats.
These were the accolades that McDonald’s Saipan received in the Best of the Marianas, a “people’s choice” award.
This year, McDonald’s is celebrating its 30 years of service, commitment, and brand excellence in the Marianas.
For McDonald’s Guam and Saipan owner and president Joe Ayuyu, the years have gone by like a blink of an eye, and they’re now looking forward to more years of serving the community.
“It has been a part of McDonald’s existence to serve the community where it belongs,” he said.
Premium quality
Since its establishment, McDonald’s Saipan has been committed to the high standards the brand is famous for.
Like all McDonald’s restaurants around the world, only the best and fresh ingredients are used by the local branches.
“We make sure that our ingredients are fresh and of good quality. We thank our vendors and business partners for providing us with the best products,” Ayuyu said.
In addition, McDonald’s maintains strict quality control with regard to its raw materials, from vegetables to livestock. They are regularly checked for freshness and quality.
McDonald’s also monitors temperature and time throughout the entire production process. This is the reason why all food items are served hot and fresh at McDonald’s.
Moreover, McDonald’s is consistently compliant with microbiological standards and good manufacturing practice.
New look
Last year, McDonald’s Chalan Laulau was renovated and was re-opened with a new, modern look.
It now has self-order kiosk screens in the main lobby that allow customers to order at their leisure and customize their meals.
Table service is now available, and the single-lane drive-thru was doubled, allowing two vehicles to order at the same time.
Customers can now check their orders on a big digital menu board that shows menu changes from breakfast to lunch.
The digital video screen menu is also show indoors at a sleek modern counter.
McDonald’s loves its people
McDonald’s Saipan trains local workers who are also prioritized for internal promotions.
“I love McDonald’s Saipan. This is where I grew as an individual and I was transformed from an ordinary young crew member to a leader,” said Joyce Asistores, McDonald’s general manager. She has been with the restaurant for more than 20 years now.
She said each year, McDonald’s recognizes the hard work of its employees and honors the most outstanding among them.
Community service
Giving back to the community is an integral part of McDonald’s business.
In Dec. 2022, McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan, in partnership with the Jose and Ruri Ayuyu Foundation, held the 2nd Annual McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan Golf Classic and raised over $30,000. The proceeds were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Salvation Army and Karidat.
Mount Carmel School, for its part, received a donation of $5,000 from McDonald’s Saipan in celebration of the school’s 70th anniversary.
To celebrate the New Year with community members and the family of their staff, owners Joe Ayuyu and Marcia “Ruri” Ayuyu welcomed 2023 with a festive gathering of family, friends and business associates at their Papago resident.
“It’s because of the community patronage that McDonald’s has reached its 30th year,” Joe Ayuyu said. “It’s all about serving the community.”
