(CHCC) —The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) Mobile Clinic celebrated its one-year milestone providing needed care to the community while addressing factors that affect their health outcomes, such as transportation, food and housing, health education, and other social assistance.
The Mobile Clinic serves as an extension of the CHCC’s outpatient clinics: Children’s Clinic, Family Care Clinic, and the Women’s Clinic meant to address gaps in accessing health care at CHCC operating on a walk-in only basis at scheduled locations.
A total of 826 individuals were assisted within the past year within the CHCC Mobile Clinic. Approximately 35 percent availed to clinical services with a provider, 36 percent benefited from free health screenings, with the other 29 percent being participants who received immunizations. Of the 826, 163 individuals received their COVID vaccinations through the CHCC Mobile clinic.
“The success of our mobile clinic outreach services is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our passionate and skilled team,” said Community Health Worker Team Lead Joseph Henry Ada. “From physicians and nurses to support staff, each member plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and effectiveness of the mobile clinic.”
The CHCC Mobile Clinic is a fully functional clinic unit equipped with two examination rooms and a triage area. A patient can get seen by a provider for the following services: Adult, Women, and Child health checks. Adult health checks with a provider include routine wellness exam, physical screening for height and weight, and/or consultation for other concerns. Women Health checks are recommended for women who haven’t seen a provider in over a year for clinical services. These services include Pap Smears, breast exams, prenatal care, postpartum care, and/or contraceptive counseling and methods. Child Health checks are recommended for children 0-17 years old. Clinical checks with a provider include developmental behavioral assessment, measurement and growth, other health screening, and/or consultation for other concerns. Services rendered are billable through most insurance providers. For individuals who are uninsured, we offer assistance in applying for Medicaid depending on eligibility.
Community health services are free and available at every Mobile Clinic outreach to include Blood pressure and glucose (sugar) checks, resources & referrals, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Mobile Clinic monthly schedule flyer is posted at over 160 business locations on Saipan and is available on the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation website at https://www.chcc.health/
