GRACE Christian Academy School II remains unscathed in the girls middle school division of the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Volleyball League SY23-24 after earning their seventh straight win by defeating Tanapag Middle School II in two sets on Tuesday at the Marianas High School gym.
GCA II consists of Qihan Wang, Breanna Lopez, Eunho Park, Alana Camacho, Hyo Won Lee, Aaliya Fatialofa, Alice Moon, Eunyu Kwak, and Dayul Kwak.
They played well as a team with proper coverages and devastating spike returns to establish the early control. TMS II fought hard, but it did not take long before GCA II reached game point to claim the opening set, 21-12.
In the second set, TMS II played more aggressively, but to no avail as GCA II easily bagged their second win, 21-14, to win the match.
Other games
Also tasting victory was Dandan Middle School II, which outscored Saipan International School II, 21-19, 21-13.
On Monday, Hopwood Middle School II bested Mount Carmel School II, 21-9, 21-18 while Dandan Middle School II outlasted Chacha Ocean View Middle School II, 21-13, 19-21, 15-10.
In the varsity category, Mount Carmel School slipped past Francisco M. Sablan Middle School in a three-set battle, 21-6, 15-21, 15-4. Also victorious in a three-set game was Hopwood Middle School, which beat Saipan Community School, 21-10, 18-21, 15-4; and Saipan International School, which triumphed against Tanapag Middle School, 20-22, 21-18, 15-10.
Dandan Middle School, for its part, won against Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 21-11, 23-21.
