(HSEM) — The CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management invites all residents, schools, businesses, and organizations to participate in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill.
ShakeOut Day will be on Oct. 16, 2025, at 10:16 a.m. (ChST). During the self-led drill, participants practice the “Drop Cover, and Hold On” procedure.
Participation is open to everyone: individuals, families, schools, and community organizations can participate together in multiple locations.
How to participate
• Register at https://www.shakeout.org/cnmi/ to be counted and receive updates
• On Oct. 16, 2025, at 10:16 a.m. (ChST), Drop, Cover, and Hold on wherever you are
• This drill will last for one minute
• Family, friends, and colleagues are encouraged to join
Globally, over 51.5 million are expected to participate. The drill not only helps prepare for earthquakes but also inspires participants to take steps in disaster readiness.
